πΎ Lupini Beans Contract Farming Program β "1 for 1" Model
One Hectare Lupini Beans for Export | One Hectare Maize for Food & Income
The "1 for 1" contract farming project is a powerful agricultural transformation strategy driven by Dios Es Grande Investment Limited in collaboration with Masarat AlKhair Trading Company of Saudi Arabia. The initiative is built around a structured national model, empowering farmers to cultivate 1 hectare of Sweet Lupini Beans for export and 1 hectare of Maize for food security and household income.
With a secured 5-year export agreement to supply 3 million metric tons of Sweet Lupini Beans, Zambia is poised to become a key supplier in the global pulse market. Farmers under this model benefit from international market access, predictable income, and critical support services.
The maize component ensures food availability at the household level, while any surplus can be sold to the project at the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) priceβproviding farmers with additional guaranteed revenue.
The "1 for 1" model is designed to tackle both commercial and food security challenges. Farmers gain sustainable income from Lupini Beans exports while maintaining food self-sufficiency. It supports smallholder farmers, boosts national exports, and strengthens Zambia's agricultural resilience in the face of climate change.
